One can't visit Cumbria or The Lake district without noticing the prominent Jennings sign above the door of the local Public Houses (Taverns) to recognise the malty, nutty aromour of their fine Beer and Ale's

A visit to Cockermouth cannot be complete without a Tour of the Castle Brewery, founded in 1828 in the nearby village of Lorton the present facilities have been in constant operation since 1874 ( Open All Year) 

Lakeside Aquarium & Steam Railway

In the village of Lakeside at the south end of Lake Windermere, near Newby Bridge is the end station of the rail link with Haverthwaite. Brentwood - John Ruskin's Home

The House on the lake side is open all year to view with Ruskin's paintings and personal effects along with the gardens and Estate available for woodland walks.

The Gondola the Victorian Steam Yacht which cruises the lake calls at Brentwood during the summer, originating from Coniston where their is a New Museum to Ruskin.  A combined entry to all three is available.   Tel: 015394-411-64

An interesting, Educational day out with FREE ENTRY gives an insight to the Atomic Nuclear World with interactive displays and complete coach tours open all year.
